Donald Grijalva Baker is a trombonist, composer, and improviser based in the Bay Area and Santa Cruz Mountains. His compositional style is influenced by Andrew Hill, Grachan Moncur III, Herbie Nichols, and Thelonious Monk, leading groups that present their music alongside his own originals.

He also builds algorithmic instruments in Max that he performs and improvises with.
